In our laboratory, we develop novel materials and electronic devices through both chemical and physical approaches. Our main research topics are: (1) the synthesis of superconductors based on two-dimensional layered materials, the induction of new superconducting phases by impurity doping and pressure application, and the elucidation of the correlation between crystal structure and superconducting properties; (2) the exploration of functional electronic devices using novel materials with unique properties, such as topological materials; and (3) the development of high-performance electronic devices based on field-effect transistors made of organic molecules and atomic-layer materials.
